What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy?

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrate of platelet-rich plasma protein derived from whole blood, centrifuged to remove red blood cells. Recently, medical professionals and researchers have learned that the body can heal itself by releasing proteins called growth factors, which are very important in the body's healing process. PRP is a treatment process that separates and amplifies the natural growth factor in your body (5 to 10 times greater) to promote local tissue growth and repair of damaged tissue. PRP therapy has many medical applications, including accelerating the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints. In aesthetic use, PRP promotes local tissue growth and repair of damaged tissue.

What are PRP Injections?

Platelet-rich plasma injections are prepared by taking about 50 to 60 ml of the patient's blood and spinning it through a specialized centrifuge to concentrate the platelets. These activated platelets are injected directly into the treated area(s) of the body to promote and speed up the healing and repair processes. The injection is natural and non-toxic since the patient's blood is being used with no adverse or allergic reaction.

PRP for Hair Loss (Alopecia) and Hairline Thinning

PRP injections trigger natural hair growth and maintain it by increasing blood supply to the hair follicle and the hair shaft's thickness. Sometimes, this approach is combined with other hair loss treatments, such as prescription medications.
